Coming soon! See what we did for week 3 & 4 of Pure Beauty. Week 3 we concluded our study of modesty and week 4 we discussed keeping our minds purely on the Lord and to not look for fulfillment anywhere else - including in relation to the opposite sex.

Week 2 "Modest is Hottest part 1"
Last night's study was most certainly all about Jesus and how much He loves us. With His love in our hearts making us pure, we desire to honor the Lord and respect others with the way we choose to dress.
"For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:20
We were encouraged by Christian young men from Calvary West Campus, who shared how they feel about modesty. From this video and our previous discussion on defining modesty we shared as a group how we feel about modesty.
Some girls asked what is considered modest and what is not. Check out 1 Peter 3:3-4. Remember the purpose of dressing modestly: to not cause your brothers in Christ to stumble, to honor the Lord (1Corinthians 12:23), and to shine the light of Christ by being an example to other girls by the way you dress.
Week 2 Notes
Think about it! The way you dress is a TESTIMONY to others. They see you and how you dress and they will say, "Wow they are different, but why?" Just like wearing a Christian T-Shirt for all to see and read, you are representing Christ by the way you dress. Others will look and see Jesus in you.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
Shine your light girls!! Glorify your Father in Heaven for He sacrificied Himself for us, let us live for Him :-)

Week 1 "What Does it Mean to be Pure?"
"What Does it Mean to be Pure?" Saturday, May 28 at Calvary Tucson's East Campus 6:00-7:15pm. If you missed it or if you'd like that silly putty recipe again ;) here's what we did!
Study Notes (use with PowerPoint)
Silly Putty Activity
We are all just goop and gunk. Then we meet Jesus and we stick to Him like glue! The Lord takes who we are and makes us new again. We were once lost, but now we are found. Because of sin, we have been everything but what were were created to be. Now, with Christ, we are a new creation. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
If we desire to be pure like God, we give our hearts and lives to Him and He transforms us, just like you will be transforming these ingredients.
Create our own silly putty and watch it transform into exciting, bouncy fun! ;-)
Materials:
(nearby sink)
2 clear plastic cups
1/2 teaspoon borax detergent soap
1 teaspoon
2 plastic spoons
1 sharpie
1 ruler
Elmer's glue (white)
Directions:
1) Use sharpie to label 1 plastic cup "A" and the other plastic cup "B".
2) Measure 1/4" up from bottom of "A" cup and mark with sharpie.
3) Squeeze or pour (gently!) Elmer's glue into cup "A" to the marked 1/4" measurement.
4) Add 4 teaspoons of water to cup "A".
5) Stir (gently) with plastic spoon glue and water in cup "A" until it looks like milk.
6) Scoop 1/2 teaspoon of Borax soap into cup "B".
7) Add 3 teaspoons of water into cup "B".
8) Stir (gently) with other plastic spoon the Borax and water in cup "B" until Borax is dissolved (or close to it).
9) Pour (again, gently) the cup "B" into cup "A".
10) Stir cup "A" until contents become a floppy solid. When it looks more like silly putty, pull out and roll in a ball in your hands until it becomes bouncy.
You're done! Congrats you've just created your own silly putty. Wasn't that fun?! Keep it in a Ziploc bag :-)
